Hello, I am Orla Illien,
I practise CranioSacral Therapy and have been expanding my knowledge and experience since 2002. I believe every person should have the opportunity to live their life with the optimum level of health. CranioSacral Therapy can benefit everyone. I find it especially beneficial for babies and children that can have a bumpy start. This can be due to a traumatic birth or grievances in early life. Anxiety with settling into school, sleep problems, shy making friends or just general change which can be hard for their sensory system to process. “ CranioSacral Therapy allows you to thrive and not just survive”
Qualifications
I qualified as an Adventure Sports and Outdoor pursuits instructor. I worked with youth groups from disadvantaged areas. It felt great to help them overcome their fears of hanging off a cliff face backwards. I got a real reward from their sense of achievement. Yet, I still felt like I should be able to do more for them. This led me to studying Holistic Health. I qualified in a variety of modalities. As much as i loved all of these therapies a key ingredient still felt like it was missing. It was when I was working with people with intellectual disabilities and autism in my 20’s that my ‘A ha’ moment came. I read a magazine article about a physiotherapist who trained in CranioSacral Therapy and treated a 5yr old boy with Autism who never spoke. After 1 session he said his first word. That’s it – I was hooked. I booked onto the next CranioSacral Course with the Upledger Institute. I have never once regretted that choice. I love every minute of CranioSacral Therapy. Treating clients, studying it , teaching parents techniques to help their children and teaching students who are developing their skills. After 18 years experience of CranioSacral Therapy I am now well established with treating babies and children. Also I am sharing my knowledge by teaching and supporting students that are training with the Upledger Institute Irl.

When you work with me you can depend on me to hold a space that allows your body to heal and relearn and to trust your body.
I believe everyone deserves to live life to their fullest potential. I truly feel CranioSacral Therapy can be an important part of your journey to optimum health. It can help you to discover a whole other way of connecting and reconnecting with yourself. I can provide a safe space where we can listen to the language of your body and what it has to say. As the body never lies you learn to trust and make choices from a much more emotionally intelligent place. This is true for babies and children too.

Our Happy Clients
I would highly recommend Orla as a Cranial Sacral Therapist. I attended Orla over a period of 2 years when I lived near her practice and have never been able to find another therapist who comes close to what Orla offers. She is such a kind, gentle person with a keen sense of intuition. Along with that, she has a very sunny disposition and even in serious situations she can help to make the atmosphere light and tranquil. She is totally present to each client and gives a lot more than you could possibly expect. Orla is a true healer in every sense of the word. I will be forever grateful to her.
Orla is an excellent craniosacral therapist. She is a wonderfully caring and experienced practitioner and I find her treatments very healing and strengthening. I would highly recommend her to anyone wishing to promote their well-being.
I cannot recommend Orla highly enough. She is truly gifted. I was finding things so hard 2 deal with after the loss off our stillborn baby Boy Ashley, I can honestly say that during treatment with her, I never feel so relieved in all my life, I felt that I can finally relax back into my own body. It’s a warm, light feeling, like floating on a cloud while at the same time being grounded. A wonderful result from the sessions, which I wasn’t expecting, felt at peace with myself also
Not only is Orla extremely professional, while at the same time being a very compassionate and warm person, she has also provided me with so much helpful advice on my Girl that she has also worked on due to bowl issues which are now all resolved..
I started bringing my 10 year son to Orla for reoccurring nightmares and night terrors. I had tried several other treatments for him but nothing worked and the problem was getting worse as he was waking most nights in a sweaty and disorientated state. CST was recommended to me by a friend but I knew very little about it. It’s a gentle non evasive treatment and after just one session the nightmares lessoned. After a few treatments the nightmares and night terrors completely stopped. I was amazed how well it worked. Orla is a very knowledgeable practitioner and I would highly recommend her to anyone.
You can tweek this Orla if needs be
My Family & I have all benefited greatly from Orla and her gift of healing and enhancement of the body through Craniosacral Therapy. Even throughout my pregnancy Orla visited regularly & with CST eased my morning sickness which was preventing me from eating & functioning normally. Within a day or so I was able to eat & carry on a normal life. CST is also important for our personal wellbeing & in our busy life it’s important to take some personal time to listen to our body.
